What Is STEP
STEP is free and allows you, a traveler abroad, to record your travel information with the Department of State. This information is private and will not be shared with anyone without prior written consent by you. It will be used on in case of emergency to assist you in getting the help you need.

How To Register
In order to register your trip with STEP, below are the instructions for how you can start doing your part to stay safe when traveling abroad.
Step 1 – Create an account with Travel.state.gov
Step 2 – Create a username and password in order to access your travel data
Step 3 – Enter your personal information
Step 4 – Add trips overseas and register with a specific US Embassy or Consulate
Step 5 – Complete as much information as possible
Step 6 – Check your confirmation email and start getting the information to assist you in your trip
