Long vs Short Vacations – Managing time and money
As we plan our vacations, issues relating to how to make our trip better or more relaxing all become important aspects of the game. Balancing time with activities and budget all work together or against each other impacting our trip in either a good or a bad way.
The object of planning a vacation is to make sure that there is harmony in your vacation. That you:A. see the sights we want to see
B. have the money to see and do all you want to
C. have enough time
The question is, how much time is enough time and do you sacrifice activities for time or money or not? This is a very personal question relating to you and your budget and what you enjoy. For instance, if you are traveling to Rome but have only a limited budget, you may want to consider what is most important to you. Do you prefer to spend more money than you expected or are you going to shorten your trip and sacrifice some destinations? The benefit to doing it this way are not only will you save money, but you can more carefully plan the destinations that are most important to you and perhaps spend more time really enjoying the sights rather than trying to fit it all in.
Dividing and Conquering
Many travelers have decided that rather than sacrificing their ideal plans including the places and activities they want, to instead shorten the trip and plan on visiting again with the money you saved. Breaking a vacation into two trips is a great way to enhance the experiences and even enjoy others you hadn’t thought of.
Next time you begin fretting over time vs money on your trip, consider the fact that no one says you can only take one trip this year, spread out the fun and make more of your time and money when you travel. What do you think?
